American Model Builders - Company House

2.75” wide x 2.5” deep x 2” high

Lined up in a row behind the mill or coal company, or as a moutainside cabin, this is a great easy-to-build little house. 100% laser-cut wood with peel & stick windows and doors and laser-cut rolled roofing. Company house by Laserkit Xpress.

Pre-weathered result:

In a near future(!?), I intend to wear down the paint with a distresser by Micro mark or similar tool to reveal the weathered wood underneath.

Preparing

The kit i fairly easy to put together and the pieces fit very good.

I gave the parts (on both sides) a coat of Weather it by A-west. The parts then dried for 24h with paper tissue + weigths on them to keep them flat.

Beginning Construction

Corners reinforced with scrap wood pieces. Insides painted with PS undercoat lt.gray (I paint the outside AND the inside to avoid warping)

The outside painted with PS Erie Lakawanna gray

White corner trim and roof fascia (peel and stick!) in place. I didn't paint it with full covering paint to make it look a little weathered.

Windows and doors

Windows and doors added. I glued some thin paper on the inside of the windows so that the future residents have some curtains...

Roof

Roof panel, peel and stick, in place and painted PS grimy black

Chimney

The chimney, metal cast, painted PS boxcar red + mortar wash with a lt gray color.
